Inspired on Pinterest

In late December 2018, I was entrusted with a big company secret — the initial public offering (IPO) of one of the last Silicon Valley unicorns of an era. Over 3 months, our small cross-functional tiger team worked closely with the C-Suite to develop the SEC Form S-1 book and 1 hour roadshow video explaining Pinterest to an audience of investors unfamiliar with the platform and the business. Our job was to prove that Pinterest wasn’t just another social media platform, but rather Pinterest sits uniquely at the crossroads of search and shopping. The roadshow video featured executive interviews, advertiser case studies, user profiles, and product demos. The video and S-1 were so successful at explaining the business that executives didn’t need to recap the business opportunity to investors when determining valuation.
