Unboring My Boardroom

Pinterest had one B2B goal: Get more agency decision makers to recommend us in their clients’ media plans. (Their clients = our advertisers.) Research told us that agencies saw Pinterest as an app for dreaming and moodboards, and that if we wanted to increase consideration we’d need to show that we’re really all about taking action.

So we approached three agencies with one big idea: Use Pinterest to create the boardroom of your dreams. No holds barred. We chose agencies who would go all in with us on “Holy $#@!” factor…and who would bolster our meager paid media budget by being media channels of their own. We even coined a new name for them: Adfluencers.

Unboring My Boardroom got the agency world buzzing — making it one of Pinterest’s most successful B2B campaigns, ever. And inspiring more than one agency CEO to say “I WANT ONE!”
